We provide price quotes for the ballpark cost of solar installations, before referring your details on to installers. More accurate pricing is available using our calculator, as it uses the average solar panel price in your state. If the prices seem expensive, then in all likelihood our quote service is not for you. Price equals quality; we only refer customers to companies that uphold the highest industry standards.
Choosing a good installer, that supplies quality components, is paramount to the performance and longevity of your solar system. Solar Calculator is able to refer you to many of the leading solar installer companies in Australia. If you choose to go ahead and request some quotes, you can be assured they’re from companies that are genuine and reliable.
If you’re in the early stages of investigating solar panels for your property, and just want a ballpark price quote, then we can help you out. Please see the figures below for various system sizes, or alternatively use our calculator that uses the average industry price for your state.
2.0 kW system = $3,000 - 5,000
3.0 kW system = $4,000 - 6,000
5.0 kW system = $6,200 - 8,500
10.0 kW system = $12,000 - 16,000
If you’re still after firm quotes from reputable installers, then please proceed.
The cost of panel and battery (hybrid) systems is quite expensive, and the financial payback is generally not as good as it is on straight panel systems - though it does depend on your usage habits.
For a good hybrid system, you won’t pay less than $10,000 and more likely you’ll be up for somewhere between $15,000 - 20,000.
If this is too expensive, you may consider a battery ready panel system and wait for solar battery prices to come down. Of course, if you’re still interested in a hybrid system, we’d be happy to organise some quotes.
Going off the grid can be very expensive. Most people do it out of necessity, or because the cost to connect to the grid is exorbitant. If you have the option to connect to the grid, financially, you are far better off doing so and getting a grid-connect panel and battery system instead. We have compiled the following ballpark figures for stand-alone solar systems:
Small 2Br home = $15,000 - 25,000
Average 3Br home = $25,000 - 45,000
Average 4Br home = $35,000 - 60,000
Heavy power user = $45,000 - 70,000+
If you are still after genuine off grid quotes, then please proceed.
Solar batteries are expensive. The payback for existing solar owners wanting a battery is often beyond 10 years, greater than the life of the battery. We have compiled some ballpark figures for you to consider below before confirming your quote request:
5kWh battery = $6,000 - 10,000
10kWh battery = $10,000 - 15,000
14kWh Tesla Powerwall 2 = $11,000 - 12,500
If you are still after a firm battery quote, then please proceed.
